What is Demo Day?
After 12 weeks of training, all Claim Academy students present their final capstone projects at this free community event. People across the city, including employers and recruiters, flock to Claim's classroom to see what students have created using the languages and programs they studied during bootcamp. Food & drinks are provided, as well as free parking in the lot adjacent to our building at the corner of Olive St. and North 22nd St.
Why attend Demo Day?
Demo Day is a great event to see what Claim Academy is all about. You can meet our team, speak with past and current students, and hear the stories of students' paths to and through bootcamp. Students pull from their personal hobbies, skill sets and professional backgrounds to design a software application or website that solves a specific problem. Past graduates have created such projects as event booking websites, game applications and medical symptom trackers, to name a few.
What's the agenda?
At Demo Day, we follow a strict schedule to ensure all students have time to present their capstones before interviewing with hiring managers in attendance.
- 3:00 - 3:15 pm: Guests arrive and enjoy light refreshments. Companies: bring your team and any marketing materials you wish to leave behind.
- 3:15 - 4:30 pm: Students present their final projects using full-scale applications built from scratch.
- 4:30 - 5:30 pm: 10-minute-speed dating interviews with students, followed by open networking. Companies can request their choice of graduates to interview.
